Discover the vibrant spirit of Argentina in every sip of Santa Ercilia Tempranillo. This exceptional wine hails from the Nofal Alonso Winery and Vineyards in the picturesque Uco Valley of Mendoza. Crafted by the talented winemaker Gabriela Zavala, this Tempranillo embodies the essence of the region, with flavors of ripe cherry and strawberry dancing on your palate. Aged for six months in used French oak barrels, it offers a fresh, rounded experience with elegant tannins and balanced acidity. Sourced from 60-year-old vines at an altitude of 3544 feet above sea level, this wine is a testament to the Nofal Alonso family's rich winemaking heritage spanning three generations. Perfectly paired with meats, poultry, pasta, and cheese, each bottle represents a harmonious blend of tradition, passion, and the unique terroir of Uco Valley.

A friendly introduction to Ercilia Nofal in a Buenos Aires wine bar led us to the storied Nofal Alonso vineyard and their deep wine roots in Mendoza (figuratively and literally). The four sisters are now managing the vineyard and winery, only a few miles from our own vineyard, in Uco Valley. In addition to running their own business, these amazing women have shared asados and guided us through the challenges of exporting/importing wine from Argentina. They have also agreed to share their Old Vine wines with you, and the US market, for the first time since 2012.

Other Notes
Nofal Alonso Winery and Vineyards is a woman-owned and managed company born over three generations ago. In 1917, Don Ceferino Alonso began producing Malbec wines in his winery from his estate grown grapes. In 1947, Gabriel Nofal further pioneered wine in Mendoza founding Nofal Winery and Vineyards. Nofal Alonso is now managed by Gabriel Nofal and Ferina Alonso’s four daughters (Nora, Ercilia, Beatriz and Teresa) and continues this tradition producing small-production wines from their own vineyards at the foothills of the Andes mountains in the Uco Valley of Mendoza.
