Santa Ercilia Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Woman Owned - Woman Winemaker
Experience the allure of Argentina with Santa Ercilia Cabernet Sauvignon. Crafted by the skilled hands of winemaker Gabriela Zavala, this wine captures the essence of storied Uco Valley. With a complex nose of spices, black currant, tobacco, and a hint of chocolate, it offers a balanced acidity and a long, elegant finish. Sourced from 60-year-old vines at 3544 feet above sea level, it embodies the rich heritage of the Nofal Alonso Winery and Vineyards, managed by the four remarkable sisters (Nora, Ercilia, Beatriz, and Teresa). Perfectly paired with red meat, lamb, and grilled vegetables, each sip is a tribute to the traditions and passion of Argentina's winemaking legacy.
A friendly introduction to Ercilia Nofal in a Buenos Aires wine bar led us to the storied Nofal Alonso vineyard and their deep wine roots in Mendoza (figuratively and literally). The four sisters are now managing the vineyard and winery, only a few miles from our own vineyard, in Uco Valley. In addition to running their own business, these amazing women have shared asados and guided us through the challenges of exporting/importing wine from Argentina. They have also agreed to share their Old Vine wines with you, and the US market, for the first time since 2012.
