El Vistaflorino Gero Blend 2021
Very Small Production
El Vistaflorino Gero Blend, meticulously crafted by Damián Nuñez in his intimate garage-turned-winery at Vista Flores, embodies the rustic charm and spirit of this quaint town nestled near our vineyard. This exceptional blend, artfully combining 50% Malbec, 25% Petit Verdot, and 25% Merlot, seamlessly merges black fruit richness with alluring spicy accents. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, it presents a sumptuously velvety texture, a robust, full-bodied character, and an enduring finish resonating with subtle red fruit nuances. Handpicked and expertly blended, this wine captures the very essence of the terroir and his philosophy, and is making its premiere in the United States. This creation not only signifies Nuñez's winemaking prowess but also encapsulates the dream and dedication of his family, making it a truly remarkable addition to our collection.
How it started- Only a few miles from our vineyard we kept passing a sign, in front of a small house, that said "Vinos De Garage" or Garage Wines. After passing many times, Zane contacted them on Instagram and made an appointment to stop by with Mindy and some friends. What we found was Damián Nuñez making outstanding wines in what was formerly his tiny garage. El Vistaflorino refers to one who grew up in Vista Flores, the tiny town nearest our vineyard, and Damián is turning into a hometown favorite by producing high-quality very small production wines. After several visits we were able to talk him into parting with a few of his wines and allowing us to bring them to the United States for the first time ever. This wine is named after his Son.
