El Vistaflorino Cabernet Franc 2021
Very Small Production
This wine, a blend of passion and craftsmanship, reveals intense red tones with Bordeaux hues. Inhale the distinct mountain-grown aromas: chili pepper, mint eucalyptus, and tomato leaves, reflecting its high-altitude origin. Aged for 24 months in French oak barrels, it offers a creamy texture and a persistent finish. Hand-harvested in April, the grapes underwent meticulous fermentation and manual punch downs, enhancing its character. This limited-production masterpiece, a testament to Nuñez's dedication, arrives in the United States for the first time. Perfectly paired with stews, pasta, or lamb, it invites you to experience the unique charm of Vista Flores in every sip.
How it started: Only a few miles from our vineyard we kept passing a sign, in front of a small house, that said "Vinos De Garage" or Garage Wines. After passing many times, Zane contacted them on Instagram and made an appointment to stop by with Mindy and some friends. What we found was Damián Nuñez making outstanding wines in what was formerly his tiny garage. El Vistaflorino refers to one who grew up in Vista Flores, the tiny town nearest our vineyard, and Damián is turning into a hometown favorite by producing high-quality very small production wines. After several visits we were able to talk him into parting with a few of his wines and allowing us to bring them to the United States for the first time ever.
